Running & sports rehabilitation

Getting back to running or sport after injury isn’t always straightforward. You might feel fine walking around, but pain or hesitation shows up the moment you try to run, pivot, or push the pace.

This service is designed to help you move forward safely - whether you're returning from injury, surgery, or dealing with recurring problems that won’t quite settle.

Conditions we treat

We regularly support people with:

  • iconRunning-related injuries
  • iconKnee, ankle, hip or foot pain linked to sport
  • iconTendon pain (such as Achilles or patellar tendon issues)
  • iconMuscle strains
  • iconLigament injuries
  • iconPost-operative rehabilitation (e.g. ACL, ankle or knee surgery)
  • iconRecurring flare-ups when returning to training

Every person is assessed properly before starting, to make sure sports rehabilitation is the right stage for them.

What we offer

Treatment is tailored to you and your sport - not a generic class or exercise sheet.

This may include:

  • iconA full assessment of strength, control and movement
  • iconRunning analysis (via our Running MOT, where appropriate)
  • iconProgressive, sport-specific rehabilitation
  • iconAgility and change-of-direction work
  • iconAdvice on training load and safe return to sport
  • iconOngoing review to reduce re-injury risk

If sports rehabilitation isn’t suitable, we’ll explain why and guide you towards the right treatment.

When to consider running & sports rehabilitation

This service may be helpful if you:

  • iconFeel pain when running or playing sport
  • iconHave finished basic physio but don’t feel ready to return fully
  • iconKeep breaking down when you increase mileage or intensity
  • iconFeel nervous about re-injury
  • iconWant reassurance before returning to competition
  • iconNotice pain only during higher-speed or dynamic movements

If you’re unsure whether this is right for you, we can advise during your assessment.

Running MOT clinic

If your main concern is running technique or recurring niggles, a Running MOT may be appropriate.

This is a 1 hour 15 minute assessment combining:

  • iconDetailed clinical assessment
  • iconTreadmill-based video gait analysis
  • iconPersonalised advice and exercises

It’s suitable for runners who want clarity about pain, performance, or injury prevention.
